Why most trade websites don't produce enquiries
A lot of sites for trades were put together to look finished. The phone number sits in the footer. The form asks for an address, a budget and a paragraph before anyone can ask for a quote. The first screen talks about the company, and the jobs and the towns come later. On a phone, the page is slow and the call button is easy to miss.
Someone searching for a plumber, roofer or electrician is usually in a hurry. If the page does not answer "do you cover me, and can you do this job?" they go back to the map or the next ad. A small business website that reads like a brochure has the same problem. It explains the history and hides the next step.
If you've been searching for website design for tradesmen, what matters more is what the visitor is asked to do. We do not sell design as the service. We build websites for tradesmen so a visit has a clear way to become a call or a quote request.
What we build
There are two kinds of page, and they do different jobs.
A website is the home of the business. It sets out the services you sell, the areas you cover, the proof a customer looks for, and a way to call or ask for a quote from any page. It is built for local SEO, so each page can match a search a nearby customer would actually type. A website for tradesmen has to say the same things as the Google Business Profile: the name, the phone number and the places you work.
Landing pages for trades are narrower. One page, one job, one area, one action. They are where we send Google Ads traffic, and the same kind of focused page can sit inside the local SEO work as a service or area page. A roofer does not have to send a storm-damage search to a general home page when a single page can answer that search.
Both are fast and mobile-first. Both are built so the enquiry can go straight into the follow-up the homepage already describes: an alert straight away, then email and text. LeadForge Marketing is based in Stockton-on-Tees, and this is the work we do for UK trades and other local service businesses. We also work with local service businesses in the US, Canada and Ireland.
What makes a page convert
The aim is a page that is easy to act on. We do not promise how many enquiries it will bring. These are the parts we build in:
- Speed. A slow page loses people before they have read what you do.
- A mobile layout. The call button, the form and the proof are built for a phone first, then checked on a larger screen.
- One clear action. Call, or a short quote form. Not a row of equal buttons.
- Click-to-call, using the same number as the Google Business Profile, so the call goes to the right place.
- A short form: name, phone, the job and the area. Not a long questionnaire.
- Trust. Space for reviews, photos of real work, and the practical details a customer checks, such as the jobs you do and the places you cover.
- Local proof. The town and the service area, so the page matches the search.
- Tracking, so a visit and an enquiry can be told apart, and the enquiry can be followed up.
On the reviews page we publish 48 five-star Google reviews, in the clients' own words. Those reviews are the kind of proof a page can show. We do not invent case studies, and we do not attach a number to how a page will perform.
How this ties into local SEO and Google Ads
Search and ads only help if the page can take the enquiry. Local SEO is the longer work aimed at the map pack and local visibility, and it includes Google Business Profile management. Google Ads is the work aimed at being in front of people who are searching now. The page is where both of those can send someone.
If the site and the profile disagree about the name, the phone or the area, the visit is harder to trust. We treat the page, the profile and the ads as one system. Google Ads can start bringing local enquiries within the first week when the campaign is pointed at people who are ready to hire. The page still has to be ready for that visit. No one can guarantee rankings on Google, and we don't. No one can guarantee how many enquiries a page will bring, and we don't.
If you are still choosing where to start, the services hub sets the three services next to each other.
How the work runs
We start on a short call. We look at the site you have, the jobs you want, and where enquiries come from today. Then we agree what to build: a full site, a set of landing pages, or repairs to pages that already exist. A one-person trade with a clear service area is a different job from a firm that covers several towns.
You see the pages before they go live. We check them on a phone, set the click-to-call number and the short form, and connect the tracking so an enquiry is not counted as a mere visit. After launch, the pages can be adjusted as the local SEO and the ads show which searches are worth keeping.
There is no long contract. Where the work continues after the build, we use simple monthly agreements. You stay because you want to, not because you are locked in. There is no penalty for leaving. The build is scoped on the call, with a clear recommendation and no obligation.

Questions we get asked
Do you sell website design?
The offer is a website or a landing page built to take a call or a quote request. A page can look finished and still hide the next step. We start from the enquiry, not from a design menu.
What is the difference between a website and a landing page?
A website is the home of the business: the services, the areas, and a way to get in touch from any page. A landing page is narrower. One job, one area, one action. We use landing pages for Google Ads, and the same kind of page can support local SEO.
Will the page work on a phone?
Yes. Pages are mobile-first. The call button, the form and the proof are built for a phone, then checked on a larger screen. Most local searches happen on a phone, so that is the layout we start with.
How do enquiries get followed up?
The aim is that an enquiry goes straight into follow-up. The homepage describes that part of the system: an alert straight away, then email and text. The form and the click-to-call number are there so the enquiry has somewhere to go.
How much does a website or landing page cost?
It depends on how many pages you need, the state of the site you have now, and whether the work is a new build or a repair. We price it on a short call and give you a clear recommendation, with no obligation.
Do you lock me into a contract?
No. Where the work is ongoing, we use simple monthly agreements. You stay because you want to, not because you are locked in. There is no penalty for leaving. The build itself is scoped on the discovery call.
